Bayan News – Local sources in Badakhshan province say that a young woman in Fayzabad, the provincial capital, committed suicide due to domestic violence.
Sources told local reporters yesterday (July 27) that this woman threw herself into the Kokcha River after a verbal altercation with her husband.
According to the sources, this woman had married without her consent due to family pressures.
This is the nth suicide of women in Badakhshan province in the past month.
The rate of suicide among youth, especially women and girls, has seen a significant increase in the past three years.
Domestic violence, poverty, and economic problems are considered the main reasons for suicide in Afghanistan.
