Taliban Foreign Minister Positively Assesses Doha Meeting
Bayan News – Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s Foreign Minister, positively assessed the third Doha meeting in a meeting with the delegation from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan.
Zia Ahmad Takal, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement released on Monday (July 29) on the X platform, that Mr. Muttaqi met with Tadamichi Yamamoto, the former head of the UN Assistance Mission in Kabul and the current head of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation delegation.
The Foreign Ministry’s statement said that various topics, including bilateral cooperation between the Taliban and the Japanese government, were discussed in this meeting.
In the meeting, Muttaqi positively evaluated the third Doha meeting, which was also attended by the Taliban delegation, as a positive step for Afghanistan, emphasizing that the Taliban considers any positive change and political development regarding Afghanistan as an effective step.
On the other hand, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation delegation stressed the continuation of the international community’s cooperation with Afghanistan under Taliban control.
This delegation also invited the Taliban delegation to visit Japan.
