Taliban Health Officials and WHO Discuss Polio Eradication

Bayan News – The Taliban Ministry of Public Health says that the acting minister of this ministry has discussed the eradication of this disease in Afghanistan with the officials of the WHO Polio Eradication Program.

This ministry announced on Monday (July 29) in a press release on the X page about the meeting of Noorjlal Jalali, the acting minister of this ministry, with Dr. Hamed Jafari, the head of the Polio Eradication Program of the World Health Organization in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

The ministry added that in this meeting, the eradication of polio disease in Afghanistan, the full activation of the polio laboratory, and the resolution of the challenges of the polio eradication program were discussed.

The acting Minister of Public Health of the Taliban had recently traveled to Switzerland to participate in a meeting and had met and discussed with the Director-General of the World Health Organization.
