In the wake of the half-raising of the flag of the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv, the Israeli Foreign Minister summoned the deputy ambassador

Bayan News – After the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv half-raised its flag to pay tribute to Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau who was assassinated in Tehran, the Israeli Foreign Ministry on Friday (August 2) summoned the Turkish deputy ambassador for “reprimand”.

According to Al-Arabiya, the images showed that the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv had half-raised its flag in mourning for Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau who was assassinated in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Tehran.

Yisrael Katz, the Israeli Foreign Minister, wrote on the “X” platform: “After the Turkish flag was half-raised at the Turkish embassy in Tel Aviv on the occasion of the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, I ordered the summoning of the Turkish deputy ambassador to Israel.”

Katz continued: “Israel will never accept any statements that mourn the killer like Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the terrorist organization Hamas, who committed a rape and massacre on October 7.”

The Israeli Foreign Minister added: “If the embassy representatives want to mourn, it would be better for them to go to Turkey and mourn with their boss, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of their country.”

Turkey strongly condemned Haniyeh’s assassination, and Hakan Fidan, the Foreign Minister of this country, attended the funeral of the Hamas political leader, which was held on Friday in Doha.

It should be noted that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau who had gone to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian, the new President of Iran, was killed in Tehran on Wednesday along with one of his bodyguards.
