Bayan News – The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) in its latest report has claimed that Washington has provided $21 billion in assistance to Afghanistan under Taliban rule over the past three years.

The report, which was published on Tuesday (August 6), states that these funds were spent by international organizations in Afghanistan from October 2021 to the end of June 2024.

According to the report, this money was spent on humanitarian aid, the transfer and resettlement of refugees, as well as the repayment of frozen funds of the Central Bank of Afghanistan.

The report also states that some of this money was spent for “organizational operations” and “security” purposes.
