Iran-Israel Tensions; U.S. F-22 Fighters Arrive in the Middle East
Bayan News – On Friday (August 9th), U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that U.S. F-22 Raptor fighter jets have arrived in the Middle East to support Israel and protect American forces in the region.
The U.S. Defense Secretary wrote on the X platform that he had discussed the situation of U.S. forces and American support for Israel with his Israeli counterpart, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Mr. Austin wrote: “The arrival of U.S. F-22 Raptor fighters in the region today demonstrates efforts to deter aggression, defend Israel, and protect U.S. forces in the area.”
He further stated that in his contact with his Israeli counterpart, he emphasized the finalization of the ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages.
The United States is sending fighters to the Middle East region as Iran and Israel are on the brink of an imminent war, following the assassination of the head of Hamas’ political bureau in Tehran.
In recent days, Iran has consistently warned that it will take retaliatory actions against Israel.
Concurrently with this warning, the Lebanese Hezbollah has also declared its readiness to take action against Israel, even though there is no necessity for Iran’s involvement in this war.
