The United States, Egypt, and Qatar have called for the resumption of negotiations between Hamas and Israel

Bayan News – the leaders of the United States, Egypt, and Qatar issued a joint statement on Thursday, August 8, calling on Israel and Hamas to resume negotiations on a ceasefire and the release of hostages.

The joint statement said that Washington, Cairo, and Doha have drafted an agreement framework that only requires working out the details to reach a conclusion.

Israel has said it will send its negotiators to Doha or Qatar for the proposed talks on October 15, one week later. Hamas has not yet responded to this proposal.

The new diplomatic efforts are another attempt to prevent further escalation of tensions in the Middle East and loss of control following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, one of Hamas’ leaders, in Tehran. Iran blames the US and Israel for the killing of Mr. Haniyeh during his trip to Tehran and has said it will retaliate.

Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack on Mr. Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran.

Now, the United States, Qatar, and Egypt have urged Israel and Hamas to resume talks without further delay on October 15 to resolve the remaining differences and implement the agreement.
