American Official: The United States is Committed to Freeing American Citizens from Taliban Custody

Bayan News – Thomas West, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, says that his country is committed to securing the release of three American citizens from Taliban prison.

West stated in a message posted on the X platform yesterday (August 11) that he is continuing his efforts to secure the freedom of these citizens from Taliban detention.

However, reports indicate that Ryan Corbit, an employee of Bloom Afghanistan, Mahmoud Haeebibee, an employee of ARX Communications, and George Glizman, an American tourist, are currently imprisoned by the Taliban.

The Taliban had previously announced that the three American citizens were imprisoned for violating and breaching the laws of Afghanistan.

American officials and the Taliban have held several discussions in Doha, the capital of Qatar, over the past year regarding the release of these American citizens.
