A British university has suspended the admission of Afghan students

Bayan News – It has been reported that the “Chevening” scholarship has put the admission of students from Afghanistan on hold for the next two academic years.

The scholarship’s website states that the acceptance of applications for the 2025-2026 academic year is currently closed, and eligibility for the current program is still under review.

This is happening while the registration process for this scholarship is ongoing for students from countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, and Syria.

The reason for this situation has not yet been clarified.

However, the aforementioned scholarship had announced that it would accept Afghan students who are outside the country following the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Over the past two years, many Afghan students who headed to neighboring countries had registered for this scholarship.
