At Least 100 Killed in Boko Haram Attack in Nigeria

Bayan News – International media, citing Nigerian officials, have reported that at least 100 people have been killed in Boko Haram attacks in the country.

France Press reported on Tuesday (September 3) that the Boko Haram attacks occurred in the “Mafa” area of Yobe State in eastern Nigeria.

Abdulkarim Dongos, spokesman for the Yobe State police, stated that several people are also missing following the attack.

Dongos added, “About 150 Boko Haram terrorists, armed with rifles and rockets, attacked the Mafa area on Sunday afternoon with more than 50 motorcycles.”

He noted that the exact number of casualties has not yet been determined.

The Yobe State police spokesman clarified that Boko Haram militants also set fire to homes and shops in the area.

According to reports, the militants likely carried out this attack in retaliation for the killing of two Boko Haram members by local residents.

A few months ago, in a similar attack by gunmen on several villages in Plateau State, 113 people were killed and 300 others were injured.

Boko Haram militants have been operating in northeastern Nigeria against the government for several years.

According to reports, more than 40,000 people have been killed during this time.
