The British government will close the Afghan embassy in London by the end of this month
Bayan News – Diplomatic sources have confirmed to Afghan media that the UK has requested Afghan diplomats in London to hand over the embassy by the end of this month.
These sources stated on Saturday evening (September 7) Afghan time that the British government, despite closing the Afghan embassy, is not willing to hand it over to the Taliban.
According to diplomatic sources, the British government has also asked Afghan diplomats to leave the UK or apply for political asylum. However, the British government has not yet officially commented on this matter.
On the other hand, it has been reported that Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, the Taliban Prime Minister, has issued orders to remove 12 Afghan ambassadors and consuls in Europe, the UK, Canada, and Australia.
Sources in this regard have also indicated that the passports of these ambassadors and consuls should be canceled.
The Taliban Foreign Ministry has recently declared that the consular services of the political representations in London, Belgium, Berlin, Bonn, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Greece, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Canada, and Australia are invalid.
These representations are still under the control of diplomats from the former Afghan government.
