The UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan will be held tomorrow, Wednesday

Bayan News – The United Nations Security Council meeting on Afghanistan is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday (September 18).

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has stated that the meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. local time in Kabul.

According to UNAMA, Rosa Otunbayeva, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, will provide information to the members of the Security Council regarding Afghanistan during part of this meeting.

The Security Council meeting on Afghanistan comes at a time when the Taliban interim government continues to enforce strict laws.

Furthermore, the Taliban interim government has recently implemented a new law on promoting virtue, which has intensified restrictions against women and girls.

This law, which has been endorsed by the Taliban leader in an introduction, four chapters, and 35 articles, has drawn international reactions.
