Bayan News – Arab media, citing Firas Al-Abyad, the Lebanese Minister of Health, report that the number of fatalities from the explosions of Hezbollah members’ “pagers” in the past two days has reached 37.
On Thursday (September 19), the Minister of Health stated in a press conference that the condition of 287 of the injured remains critical.
The first wave of pager explosions among Hezbollah members occurred on Tuesday across Lebanon, resulting in at least 12 deaths and over 2,750 injuries, including the Iranian ambassador in Beirut.
Yesterday, the country experienced a second wave of pager explosions, in which 25 people were killed and 708 were injured.
The Lebanese Foreign Minister described the explosions as “an open attack on Lebanon’s sovereignty and security” and a dangerous development that could be “a sign of a broader war.”
Hezbollah has blamed Israel for these explosions and threatened to take revenge.
According to Al Jazeera, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, will speak today regarding these explosions.
Following these incidents, the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority has prohibited carrying “pagers” on board airplanes.
