Deadly Israeli Attack in Beirut; Death Toll Rises
Bayan News – As debris removal operations continue for the third consecutive day around the destroyed building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which was targeted by an Israeli airstrike last Friday, the death toll has risen.
According to Al Arabiya, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced on Sunday (September 22) that the number of victims, including women and children, has reached 45.
In a statement, the ministry said that forensic experts from the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces have taken DNA samples from the bodies transferred to hospitals, which remain unidentified, to determine their identities.
Many residents of the area have been waiting around the destroyed building since Friday, despite security barriers, hoping to learn the fate of dozens of their loved ones.
This attack, for which the Lebanese government has held Tel Aviv responsible, resulted in the deaths of 16 Hezbollah members, including Ibrahim Aqil, commander of the Radwan Unit, and Ahmed Wahbi, head of the “Central Training Unit” of Radwan, who were meeting in the building’s basement.
