Afghan-born Senator Establishes a Political Party Called “Voice of Australia”
Bayan News – It has been reported that Fatima Payman, an Australian senator of Afghan origin, has recently founded a political party named “Voice of Australia.”
She established this party four months after resigning from the ruling Labor Party in Australia.
According to Australian media reports, Payman announced on Wednesday, October 9, that her party will represent those who are tired of the two major Australian parties and are seeking change.
The senator stated that this political party will field candidates for the Senate in all states across the country.
She expressed that the “Voice of Australia” will be a centrist party focused on all Australians and will reflect a “fairer and more inclusive Australia.”
About four months ago, Fatima Payman voted in favor of the Greens Party’s proposal to recognize Palestine as an independent state, opposing the position of the Australian Labor Party, to which she belonged.
Following this action, the ruling Labor Party in Australia suspended her membership from the party.
