The wife of a former member of parliament was shot dead in Mazar-e Sharif
Bayan News – Reports indicate that the second wife of Rais Abdul Khaliq, a former member of Afghanistan’s Parliament, was killed in the city of Mazar-e Sharif, the capital of Balkh province.
According to reports published on Friday, October 11, the second wife of this former parliament member was shot dead at night by unidentified gunmen in her home.
Rais Abdul Khaliq, who currently resides in Iran, has three wives. It is said that his second wife’s house is located in the Masjid Seh Dokan area of Mazar-e Sharif.
Taliban security officials in Balkh have not commented on the incident.
Rais Abdul Khaliq was a former commander of the Jamiat-e-Islami party and is close to Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balkh province.
