Iranian Police Official Urges Citizens to Report Illegal Immigrants
Bayan News – General Sardar Qasem Rezaei, the Deputy Commander of Iran’s Law Enforcement Forces, has recently called on the Iranian public to report any gatherings of “illegal immigrants” to the police.
He warned Iranian citizens that selling or renting bank cards, housing, or vehicles to illegal immigrants is unlawful.
The Iranian official stated, “Due to the events of the past forty years in our Muslim and friendly neighbor, Afghanistan, a number of its citizens have migrated to our country to continue their lives. Some of these individuals have entered the country completely legally, and they are our guests, which poses no issue.”
He added that some other foreign nationals have entered Iran “illegally” and are living and working there, and their actions are considered crimes under the law.
The Deputy Commander emphasized that employing “illegal” foreign nationals is a crime, and employers who provide jobs to these individuals will face legal action.
General Qasem Rezaei further stated that, according to new policies, “illegal immigrants” must return to their own countries, and the police have made provisions for their return. He noted that wherever “illegal immigrants” are found, the police are obliged to identify, gather, and return them to the borders.
This comes as the Islamic Republic has increasingly ramped up the deportation of Afghan migrants. Official reports indicate that Iranian authorities arrest and deport hundreds of Afghan migrants to Afghanistan daily.
