Deadly Explosion at Quetta Train Station; At Least 80 Reported Dead and Injured

Bayan News – Following a deadly suicide attack at the train station in Quetta, Pakistan, 25 people were killed and over 40 others injured.

According to Pakistani media reports, the incident occurred on Saturday morning (November 9). Hamza Shafqat, the police commissioner of Quetta, confirmed that the explosion was a suicide bombing.

According to Shafqat, the attacker entered the station with a suitcase, making it difficult for the police to intercept. The explosion happened just as a train was about to depart for Peshawar, with a large crowd present at the station.

Reports indicate that the Baloch separatist group, known as the Balochistan Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the bombing. Balochistan, located in southwestern Pakistan, is one of the country’s most insecure regions.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. The ministry expressed condolences to the families of the explosion victims in a brief statement.
