National Security Advisor in the Trump Administration; a soldier with a history of fighting the Taliban

Bayan News – American media have reported that Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, has appointed a veteran with a background in fighting the Taliban as his National Security Advisor.

According to American media reports, Mike Waltz, who served for 27 years in the U.S. Army and National Guard, is currently a representative from Florida in the U.S. House of Representatives and is considered a strong supporter of Trump.

This 50-year-old veteran has published his military and political experiences in a book titled Warrior Diplomat: A Green Beret’s Battles from Washington to Afghanistan.

Mr. Waltz has strongly criticized the Biden administration’s actions regarding the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, repeatedly describing this process as shameful for the Biden administration.

Nonetheless, the position of National Security Advisor in the United States is a powerful one that, unlike many senior government positions, does not require Senate confirmation.
