Biden and Trump Meeting; Both Emphasize a Peaceful Transfer of Power
Bayan News – On Wednesday (November 13), current U.S. President Joe Biden met with Donald Trump at the White House to discuss a peaceful transfer of power in the United States.
This was their first meeting since Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election and the defeat of Kamala Harris, Biden’s Vice President.
According to published reports, Biden welcomed Trump and reiterated that, as he had stated before, he would do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition of power.
During the meeting, Trump described politics as a “tough and challenging” world and expressed his gratitude to Biden for facilitating the transfer of power “in the smoothest way possible.”
American media also reported that Jill Biden, Joe Biden’s wife, handed a handwritten congratulatory note to Mr. Trump to pass on to his wife Melania, along with a promise of cooperation.
Following a political tradition, newly elected U.S. presidents are invited to the White House to meet with the current president and discuss the transfer of power.
