Senior Taliban Official: We Strive to Deliver Islam Free of Superstitions to the People
Bayan News – Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban’s interim government, stated that the current Afghan administration is working to deliver Islam free of superstitions and in its correct form to the people.
Mr. Baradar made these remarks on the evening of Tuesday, November 19, during a meeting with a number of scholars from India and Bangladesh in Kabul.
The senior Taliban official said:“The Islamic Emirate (Taliban) is striving to present the blessed religion of Islam free of all superstitions and in its true form to its people. For this purpose, it has strengthened madrasas, is working on the establishment of new academic institutions, and has implemented significant reforms in the educational curriculum.”
The Deputy Prime Minister further noted that the current administration has initiated effective efforts to improve the country’s economic situation. In this regard, major economic projects are underway, and trade with neighboring countries, the region, and the world has been expanded.
Referring to the freezing of Afghanistan’s foreign reserves by the United States and the economic sanctions imposed on the country, Baradar emphasized that these actions have exacerbated Afghanistan’s economic challenges.
In conclusion, the senior Taliban official reiterated that the current government in Kabul seeks to establish political and economic relations with the world, provided that mutual interests are recognized within the framework of Islamic Sharia, so that Afghanistan can achieve the necessary self-sufficiency.
