Increase in Suicide Attacks in Pakistan; Terrorists Have Shifted from Consolidation to Offensive Stage
Bayan News – Amid a surge in armed and suicide attacks in Pakistan, Zia Siraj, the former head of Afghanistan’s National Security Directorate, stated that this situation was predictable for Islamabad.
On Wednesday evening (November 20), Siraj wrote on the platform X, highlighting the growing insecurity, that Islamabad repeatedly ignored warnings about terrorism, and the current situation in Pakistan was still foreseeable.
The former Afghan intelligence official further wrote that Pakistan is experiencing an upward trend in terrorist attacks, with the likelihood of these attacks intensifying.
Siraj wrote: “Although Pakistan received multiple warnings about the consequences of fostering terrorism and using it as a strategic weapon for political purposes, it chose to ignore these warnings.”
He added: “As long as the command and control center for terrorism remains in Afghanistan, the region, including Pakistan, should not expect anything different.”
The former Afghan security chief also noted that based on the actions and messages of terrorist groups, they will soon transition from the consolidation phase to an offensive phase.
These remarks come as militant attacks on Pakistani forces in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have significantly increased in recent days.
Yesterday, a suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed the lives of 12 Pakistani security personnel.
