The Hague Court Issues Arrest Warrants for Israeli Prime Minister
Bayan News – The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Thursday, November 21, issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel; Yoav Gallant, the former Defense Minister; and Mohammed Deif, the military commander of Hamas.
The court’s judges, based on presented evidence, stated that the Israeli Prime Minister and the former Defense Minister are responsible for crimes related to starving the people of Gaza and persecuting Palestinians.
According to published reports, Mohammed Deif faces charges including genocide, sexual assault, and hostage-taking during the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.
With these rulings, Netanyahu, Gallant, and Deif are now designated as wanted suspects. Under this ruling, the 120 member states of the ICC are obligated to arrest them if they enter their territories.
However, according to experts, the ICC’s arrest warrants for these individuals will further isolate Israeli officials and Hamas leaders, complicating and challenging efforts to negotiate a ceasefire.
