Afghan Embassy in Islamabad: Afghan Migrants Were Not Involved in Pakistan’s Recent Protests

Bayan News – The Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, responding to statements by Pakistan’s Interior Minister, has declared that Afghan migrants had no involvement in the protests by supporters of Imran Khan.

Yesterday, November 30, the embassy issued a statement asserting that the remarks made by Pakistan’s Interior Minister regarding this matter were baseless and could negatively impact relations between the two countries.

The statement emphasized that Afghan migrants have no role in Pakistan’s political events and that unfounded accusations by Pakistani officials could lead to harassment of Afghan migrants.

However, a few days ago, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, stated in a press conference that Afghan migrants had participated in protests by Imran Khan’s supporters.

The minister further claimed that among the detained supporters of Imran Khan, 20 individuals were Afghan migrants.

Following these remarks, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry announced a ban on the movement of undocumented Afghan migrants in Islamabad.
