Trump Warns BRICS Members: If You Print a New Currency, Say Goodbye to the U.S. Economy
Bayan News – Donald Trump, the President-elect of the United States, has warned the member countries of the BRICS organization that if they issue a new currency, they will have to say goodbye to the U.S. economy.
Yesterday, November 30, Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that any country using a currency other than the powerful U.S. dollar would face a 100% tariff.
Trump stated: “There is no chance that BRICS can replace the U.S. dollar in international trade, and any country attempting to do so will have to say goodbye to the American economy.”
BRICS is an organization founded in 2006 by Russia, China, India, and Brazil.
The President-elect’s reaction comes after BRICS members unveiled a new currency during a meeting last month.
Last year, the BRICS leaders also issued banknotes as part of this initiative.
According to published reports, leaders from Russia and Brazil are key supporters of the proposal, although it seems that much work remains before it can be fully implemented.
Countries such as China, India, and the United Arab Emirates, which are also BRICS members, maintain extensive trade relations with the United States and the West.
