France and Saudi Arabia to Hold Conference on the Creation of a Palestinian State

Bayan News – International media have reported that France and Saudi Arabia plan to host a conference within the next month focused on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

According to the French News Agency (AFP), this issue was discussed during Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Saudi Arabia, and the conference is scheduled to take place in January.

The Élysée Palace announced that during the joint meeting between Macron and the Saudi Crown Prince, regional issues and efforts to de-escalate the ongoing tensions in Syria were reviewed.

The French President and the Saudi Crown Prince met on the sidelines of the World Water Summit, which was held on Tuesday in Riyadh.

This development comes as diplomatic efforts over the past year to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, secure the release of Israeli hostages, and create an independent Palestinian state have yielded no results.

Earlier this year, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. However, due to opposition from Israel and the United States, the resolution has not been implemented.
