Khalilzad’s Sarcasm: Now Ashraf Ghani and Assad Have the Opportunity to Sympathize in the UAE
Bayan News – Amid Bashar al-Assad’s reported escape, Zalmay Khalilzad sarcastically remarked that now Ashraf Ghani and Assad have the opportunity to sympathize with each other in the United Arab Emirates.
Khalilzad shared this comment on the platform X on Sunday afternoon (December 8).
Bashar al-Assad’s government has come to an end after forty years in Syria, with Islamists now taking control of the country.
The leader of Tahrir al-Sham announced on Sunday that until power is transferred to a new government, Syria’s state affairs will continue under the supervision of the country’s prime minister.
While Assad’s family left Syria last week, Bashar al-Assad’s whereabouts remain unknown, and no clues about his location have been revealed so far.
However, multiple reports suggest that Assad has fled Damascus.
