OCHA: $958.5 Million in Humanitarian Aid Received This Year

Bayan News – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that $958.5 million in humanitarian aid has been received from various countries this year for the people of Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, December 10, OCHA reported that this aid has been used to assist 15.3 million people in need across Afghanistan.

According to OCHA, 2.8 million people in Afghanistan have received three types of assistance, while 15 million others have received only one type of aid.

At the beginning of this year, OCHA had stated that $3.06 billion was needed to provide assistance to the Afghan population.

Recently, OCHA also mentioned that more than $600 million in immediate funding is required to support those in need during the winter season.
