Developments in Syria; Khamenei’s Warning – Resistance Will Encompass the Entire Region More Than Ever

Bayan News – Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, stated that what occurred in Syria was a joint plan by the United States and Israel.

Speaking at a gathering in Tehran on Wednesday (December 11), the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that, in addition to the United States and Israel, a neighboring country to Syria also played a clear role.

Although Khamenei did not name this country, it is likely that he was referring to Turkey.

The Iranian leader explicitly stated: “The main agent, the primary conspirator, and the central command room are in the United States and Israel.”

Referring to the Islamic Republic’s proxy forces in Syria, he asserted that the scope of resistance would encompass the entire region more than ever before: “The more pressure you apply, the stronger it becomes. The more crimes you commit, the more motivated it becomes. The more you fight against them, the more widespread they become.”

Khamenei, addressing analysts’ claims about the weakening of the Islamic Republic, said: “That ignorant analyst, unaware of the true meaning of resistance, assumes that if resistance weakens, so will Islamic Iran. But I declare that Iran is strong and will become even more powerful.”

Many analysts believe that the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria would represent a strategic defeat for the Islamic Republic.

On the other hand, Turkey also supports the rebels in Syria. At the onset of the rebellion, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, openly expressed his hope that the advancement of opposition forces against Assad would proceed without obstacles.
