Coal Mine Collapse in Samangan; 22 Workers Rescued

Bayan News – Local officials in the northern Afghan province of Samangan reported that a rescue operation team successfully saved 22 workers trapped in a coal mine in the Dar-e-Suf Payin district of the province.

On Sunday morning (December 15), reports emerged of a coal mine collapse in the Dar-e-Suf Payin district of Samangan, leaving 35 workers trapped under the rubble.

Makhdoom Lutfullah, the head of mines in Samangan, announced on Sunday evening that all the trapped workers, totaling 22, had been rescued.

The head of mines in Samangan also confirmed the conclusion of the rescue operation.

It is reported that the incident occurred yesterday at 6 PM in the Sefid Khak area of Gule village in the Dar-e-Suf Payin district.

Sources had earlier stated that rescue and medical teams had arrived at the site and were continuing efforts to free the individuals trapped under the debris.
