An Afghan Prisoner Executed in Karaj Prison, Iran
Bayan News – It has been reported that the Islamic Republic executed an Afghan prisoner on the morning of Wednesday, December 18, in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj.
The human rights organization Hengaw reported that the Afghan prisoner had been sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related crimes.
The organization identified the Afghan prisoner as Abdulbari Pakohi, who, according to Hengaw, was imprisoned and sentenced to death for drug-related charges.
According to the report, other executed prisoners include Majid Jamshidi, Sohrab Ahmadi-Pour, Hassan Ali Yousefi, Farzad Nowruzavi, and Rastgouyi Kandelaj.
Three of these individuals were convicted of drug-related crimes, one was charged with premeditated murder, and another was accused of “causing physical harm to women with a spear.”
The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to carry out executions despite strong opposition from international human rights organizations.
