UN: Over the Past Three Years, We Supported 80,000 Small Businesses Led by Afghan Women
Bayan News – The United Nations Development Agency for Afghanistan has claimed that since 2021, it has supported 80,000 small businesses led by Afghan women.
On Sunday (December 22), the agency stated on the X platform that its support for these businesses has created approximately 900,000 jobs in Afghanistan.
According to the UN Development Agency, businesses managed and led by women over the past three years have directly and indirectly benefited 4.5 million people in Afghanistan.
The agency also reported that small businesses and job creation initiatives for the Afghan people, particularly women, have received financial support from the Japanese government and the European Union.
It is worth noting that the UN agency had previously reported that, over the last three years, more than 850,000 people in Afghanistan, including 225,000 women, have gained access to employment opportunities.
The United Nations Development Agency operates in 170 countries worldwide with the mission of combating poverty and protecting the environment.
