Pakistani Army Conducts Airstrikes in Parts of Paktika and Khost Provinces
Bayan News – Reports indicate that the Pakistani Army has conducted airstrikes in Barmal district of Paktika province and Spera district of Khost province.
Security sources informed Afghan media that these attacks took place on Tuesday night (December 24).
According to the sources, the Pakistani Army targeted four hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) in border areas between the two countries during these strikes.
Pakistani media also reported that key hideouts of the Pakistani Taliban were destroyed, and several fighters affiliated with the group were killed in the attacks.
A Pakistani journalist noted that the Pakistani military confirmed the airstrikes on their targets but claimed that refugee camps were also hit in these attacks.
Details about casualties and damage from the strikes are not yet available, and the interim Afghan government has not reacted to the incident so far.
The Pakistani Army has previously carried out airstrikes in parts of Afghanistan, which have strained relations between the interim government and Pakistan.
Simultaneously with these attacks, Pakistan’s special envoy for Afghanistan is currently in Kabul, holding talks with senior officials of the interim government.
During his meeting with Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Pakistani envoy emphasized the need to improve relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
