Iranian Officials Emphasize Expanding Relations and Cooperation with the Caretaker Government
Bayan News – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic in Kabul announced that Alireza Bigdeli, Iran’s ambassador in Kabul, discussed the development of relations and cooperation with the Taliban government with Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister.
On Thursday (December 26), the embassy stated in a message on Platform X that the Iranian ambassador provided a report on his mission and outlined future plans to pursue the development of relations between the two countries.
However, the Iranian embassy in Kabul did not provide further details regarding the proposed future programs.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bigdeli also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Afghanistan’s and Iran’s ministries within the framework of neighborly relations during talks with Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s Minister of the Interior.
Alireza Bigdeli, who was recently appointed as the head of Iran’s embassy in Afghanistan, stated that expanding relations between Afghanistan and Iran is a top priority of his mission in the country.
He added that he would strive to enhance the relationship between the two nations through collaboration with both “official authorities” and the public.
Over the past three years, Iran has maintained close political and economic relations with the caretaker government.
