The first rail transit shipment from China arrives in Herat province

Bayan News – Ashraf Haqshenas, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works of the caretaker government, announced on Friday (December 27) the arrival of the first rail transit shipment from China to Afghanistan.

The spokesperson wrote on the X platform that the rail transit shipment from China to Afghanistan, including 1,000 tons of iron coils, arrived at the Rozanak station in Herat province via the Iranian rail route.

Haqshenas further stated that the shipment started its journey in China, entered Bandar Abbas, and was transported to Afghanistan through the rail network of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He emphasized that the transport of this shipment via this route marks a significant step in enhancing Afghanistan’s transit connectivity and linking the country to open waters.

The spokesperson expressed hope that with the completion of the Khaf-Herat railway line, a new capacity will be created to boost the economy.
