Putin Apologizes to Azerbaijan for Plane Crash
Bayan News – Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, apologized to Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, during a phone call regarding the crash of a passenger plane.
The Kremlin announced on Saturday (December 28) that Putin held a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart.
According to the Kremlin’s statement, Putin expressed apologies for the “regrettable incident in Russian airspace.”
However, the Russian President did not explain the cause of the plane crash.
Putin also confirmed that Russia’s air defense system was active at the time of the incident. He stated that this activity was due to Ukrainian drone attacks.
Meanwhile, the United States claims to have evidence suggesting that Russia’s air defense system might have shot down the aircraft that crashed on Wednesday in Kazakhstan.
