This report, published by the “Hrana” news agency, investigates the recruitment and use of child soldiers by Iran in the war and is titled “Comprehensive Report on Iran’s Recruitment and Use of Child Soldiers in the War.” According to the report, Iran has deployed Afghan children to the Syrian war as part of the Fatemiyoun Division.
The Hrana news agency states that this report reveals a series of violations of international humanitarian laws (laws of war) and children’s rights, exposing the depth of Iran’s involvement in recruiting, training, and sending children to conflict zones.
The findings of this report document several violations of international laws by Iran, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which stipulates that children under the age of 15 should not be recruited or used in hostilities.
The report states that the majority of Fatemiyoun Division members were Afghan migrants.
It is also mentioned in the report that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been active in conscription within Afghanistan and has established unofficial offices in the country.
The news agency further notes that although the exact number of Fatemiyoun Division members is unknown, the findings indicate that most recruited soldiers in this division are between 15 and 18 years old.
