Detention of a Journalist by the Taliban in Kunduz Province
Bayan News – It has been reported from Kunduz province that Taliban intelligence forces have detained a local journalist in the province.
Sources have identified this journalist as Abdullah Ahmadi and have stated that he was arrested on Monday (24th March) during an event he was covering.
According to sources, this event was a reconciliation program between two feuding families, and Ahmadi had gone to cover it.
The reason for the detention of this local journalist has not been determined yet.
During the past year, several local journalists in Kunduz province have been detained by the Taliban intelligence and later released after a period of time.
The Taliban has imposed strict conditions on media activities in Afghanistan, and the continuation of these conditions to restrict freedom of expression has led to the arrest and intimidation of some journalists.
