Bayan News – Sayed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, warned Israel that by assassinating Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau in Tehran, it has created the grounds for severe punishment.
The Supreme Leader said in his message on Wednesday (July 31): “The criminal Zionist regime (Israel) and terrorist killed our dear guest and made us mourn, but it also created the grounds for severe punishment for itself.”
Khamenei further wrote in his message: “He (Haniyeh) did not fear being martyred in the way of God and the dignity of God’s servants, but we consider seeking justice for him our duty in this bitter and difficult incident that occurred in the domain of the Islamic Republic.”
The head of the Hamas political bureau, who had traveled to Tehran to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, was killed in an attack early on Wednesday morning.
Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack on Haniyeh.
