Washington to sell $20 billion worth of weapons to Israel

Bayan News – American media reported on Tuesday (August 13) that, according to the U.S. State Department, Washington has confirmed the sale of $20 billion worth of weapons to Israel.

According to the Associated Press, the U.S. State Department has stated that Washington is committed to defending Israel’s security and that helping this country strengthen its defense capabilities is vital to U.S. interests.

The media reported that although this deal was made at a time when Iran was threatening to attack Israel, not all of these weapons are expected to be immediately available to Israel.

According to the Associated Press, a large portion of these weapons will be made available to Israel in the long term.

During the 10-month war between Israel and Hamas, in which more than 40,000 Palestinians were killed, the U.S. has been the largest provider of weapons to Israel. Several U.S. politicians and members of Congress have accused the Biden administration of funding Israel to kill the people of Gaza.
