Signing of 35 Agreements; Unprecedented Taliban-Uzbekistan Relationship Kick-starts
Bayan News – The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban has announced the signing of 35 agreements worth $2.5 billion with the Government of Uzbekistan.
These agreements were signed on Saturday (August 17) between Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban, and Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, in Kabul.
According to the statement from the Taliban’s Economic Deputy, “In the ceremony for signing the agreements, officials and representatives from the private sector of both countries were present, and these agreements included 12 investment agreements worth $1.4 billion and 23 trade agreements worth $1.1 billion.”
The Taliban’s Economic Deputy emphasized that with the implementation of these agreements, the economic relations between the two countries will be strengthened, and the level of trade will see a significant increase.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan arrived in Kabul on Saturday, and this is the first high-level visit of a country for economic talks with the Taliban.
With the signing of these agreements, Uzbekistan and the Taliban have orchestrated their largest political and economic relationship at the regional level.
