The European Union has asked the Taliban to reconsider the travel ban on “Bennett” to Kabul

Bayan News – Peter Stano, spokesperson for the Office of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, called on the Taliban government on Friday (August 23) to reconsider the travel ban on the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights.

He wrote on platform X that the European Union condemns the travel ban on Bennett to Kabul.

In addition to lifting Bennett’s travel ban, the EU spokesperson urged the Taliban to cooperate with him and allow him to enter Afghanistan to gather the necessary documentation to complete his investigations.

The European Union has emphasized its support for the mission of the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan.

Previously, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General had also stated in response to this action by the Taliban that the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights will continue his work remotely.
