Deadly Attack in Kabul; Pentagon: ISIS Khorasan Branch Considered a Threat
Bayan News – General Patrick Ryder, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense or Pentagon, has deemed the presence of the ISIS Khorasan branch in Afghanistan a threat.
On Tuesday (September 3), during a press conference, he referred to the recent ISIS attack on the Darulaman road in Kabul and stated that the Khorasan branch of ISIS remains a threat.
This official from the U.S. Department of Defense responded to reporters’ questions, adding that the United States will take appropriate actions to combat these new threats.
General Ryder said, “ISIS continues to be considered a threat, both the Khorasan branch of ISIS and its other affiliates.”
Two days ago, responsibility for the suicide attack outside the Taliban prosecutor’s office on Darulaman road in Kabul was claimed.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior reported that six civilians were killed and 12 others were injured in this incident.
However, social media users, by sharing images of the victims of this event, stated that six young men from Badakhshan, who were employees of this Taliban institution, were killed.
