Pakistani Senator: Islamabad’s Policy in Afghanistan Has Failed

Bayan News – Mushahid Hussain Syed, a prominent Pakistani senator, stated that the government’s policies in Afghanistan have failed.

In an interview with “Aaj News” on Sunday (September 22), he added that despite Pakistan’s engagement with the Taliban, the government must also fight terrorism in the region.

The Pakistani senator noted, “Pakistan failed to understand the people of Afghanistan; they are Afghans, not your subordinates.”

Mushahid emphasized that Islamabad, while engaging with the Taliban, must also combat terrorist groups in the region.

This comes after Munir Akram, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, said two days ago that despite differences with the Taliban, Islamabad remains committed to maintaining relations with Kabul.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed concerns over the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and called on the world to engage with the Taliban.
