Taliban and Islamic Republic of Iran Representatives Discuss Border Protection

Bayan News – The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has announced that a delegation from the ministry held talks with border officials from the Islamic Republic regarding border protection and the prevention of drug trafficking.

On Monday, September 30, the ministry issued a statement on the X platform, adding that the meeting addressed topics related to coordination between the border forces of both sides to ensure border protection, prevent drug trafficking, and other related issues.

According to the statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Defense, both delegations agreed to continue discussions on these matters in the future.

This marks several instances where delegations from the Taliban and the Islamic Republic have held talks at the Islam Qala border, focusing on combating drug trafficking, preventing illegal migration, and ensuring border security.

The discussions between the Taliban and the Islamic Republic come as reports emerged today that an Iranian border guard was killed in an armed clash near the Afghanistan border.
