Muttaqi at the Moscow Format Meeting: ISIS Explosions in Afghanistan Are Carried Out by Foreign Nationals

Bayan News – Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, stated on Friday (October 4) at the Moscow Format meeting that most of the explosions by the ISIS group in Afghanistan are carried out by foreign nationals.

Mr. Muttaqi, in his speech, pointed out that the threats coming from Afghanistan are baseless and emphasized that regional countries should not allow the ISIS group to continue its recruitment efforts.

This senior Taliban official clarified that ISIS has managed to establish training and equipment centers outside Afghanistan’s borders, raising serious concerns.

However, the Taliban Foreign Minister reiterated that the ISIS group does not exist in Afghanistan.

Amir Khan Muttaqi also mentioned in another part of his speech that the Taliban had laid the groundwork for dialogues with regional countries before coming to power in Afghanistan.

He stated that these dialogues were effective, and for this reason, the Taliban have always participated at a high level in these meetings.

The Taliban Foreign Minister traveled to Russia two days ago to participate in the sixth consultative meeting of the Moscow Format regarding Afghanistan.

Mr. Muttaqi regarded the Moscow Format meeting as an effective mechanism for significant regional cooperation.
