The Taliban Ask Countries to Remove Them from the List of Terrorist Organizations

Bayan News – After Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan removed the Taliban from their list of terrorist organizations, the Taliban government is now urging other countries to take similar actions.

Hamidullah Fitrat, deputy spokesperson for the Taliban government, sent a video message to the media on Tuesday (October 8) welcoming the removal of the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations by the Russian government.

The Taliban official added that removing their name from the list of terrorist organizations would contribute to the development of positive relations.

He stated that the Taliban believe in positive interactions and relationships and called on other countries to take similar steps.

The deputy spokesperson for the Taliban made these remarks following a statement by Yuri Ushakov, the Russian president’s aide on international affairs, who said that the Taliban would soon be removed from Russia’s list of banned groups.

The Russian official added that the process of removing the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations is underway.

Meanwhile, at the sixth Moscow Format consultative meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s acting foreign minister, sought to persuade Russia to remove the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations.
