The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament visited bombed areas in the capital of Lebanon

Bayan News – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, visited areas in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, that were bombed by the Israeli army on Saturday, October 12.

According to Iranian media, Ghalibaf’s visit took place after his meeting with Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s interim Prime Minister.

During his visit to the affected areas, Ghalibaf told reporters that Iran “supports the people of Palestine and Lebanon in these circumstances, and this support will continue.”

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament added, “We also consider it our duty to attend to the oppressed and displaced people in this region.”

Ghalibaf is scheduled to travel from Beirut to Geneva later today to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.

His visit to the bombed areas of central Beirut comes as the Israeli army continues its attacks in the south of the country.

An Israeli army spokesperson has warned residents of southern Lebanon not to return to their homes until further notice, stating that anyone traveling to the south risks their lives.
