The Interim Government Signs Contract for the Construction of the “Yatiman Taq” Cement Factory in Jowzjan with a Turkish Company

Bayan News – The Economic Affairs Office of the Taliban government has announced the signing of a contract with the Turkish company 77 for the construction of a cement factory in Jowzjan province.

This contract was signed on Tuesday (October 29) between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the representative of the Turkish company 77, in the presence of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban government’s Deputy for Economic Affairs.

According to a statement from the Taliban’s Economic Affairs Office, the company will invest 163 million dollars in the factory, which will have a daily production capacity of 3,000 tons of cement.

During the signing, the Taliban’s Minister of Mines stated that, under this agreement, the Turkish company will invest in exploration, extraction, production, and social services related to cement, with the contract set for a duration of 30 years.

The statement further noted, “The construction of this cement factory will provide direct employment opportunities for approximately 1,200 citizens.”

According to released information, in the past three years, the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines has signed contracts worth 476 million dollars for cement projects in Jabal al-Saraj, Kandahar, and Herat with several domestic and foreign companies.
