A Cleric Was Killed in Takhar Province

Bayan News – It has been reported that unidentified armed men have killed a cleric in Takhar province.

Local sources stated that this incident took place on November 1 in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province.

According to the sources, the cleric was named Mawlawi Zakaria Mushtani, and he was shot and killed while on his way to the morning prayer.

The sources indicate that this religious scholar had, on several occasions, criticized Taliban policies.

So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for his assassination.

Local Taliban authorities in Takhar have also not commented on the matter.

It is worth noting that since taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have, in some cases, systematically and mysteriously attacked their opponents.
